A delicious replacement for the traditional gravy, this recipe is the perfect topping for your loaves, potatoes, green bean or just with bread.
Ingredients:
2 Cups water
1/2 cup cashew butter
2 tablespoon arrowroot powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon onion powder (or 1/2 onion, chopped)
2 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoon Soy Sauce
1 teaspoon (dried) Sage
Steps:
Blend together all the ingredients in a pan. Cook over a stove on medium to high till the liquid is close to boiling. Lower the heat to medium to low and cook till gravy thickens.
Notes:
This makes a light gravy. If you would like to have a darker color, you can add food coloring or balsamic vinegar for color. TIP: Add more sage for a sage gravy, or your favorite herbs to modify the basic recipe.
